Lurie Medical Research Center
Alliance Fire Protection installed new fire pumps, standpipes and fire sprinklers in the Lurie
Medical Research Center. This building consists of research laboratories and medical office space.
This facility is named The Robert H. Lurie Medical Research Center of Northwestern University in
honor of the late husband of Ann Lurie, who is a member of Northwestern's Board of Trustees. Ms. Lurie
made a $40 million donation to help build this medical research center.
The 12-story building has more than 200,000 square feet of research space. The building includes
nine floors of laboratories, with additional floors for support functions and a ground floor that
includes a dining facility, two auditoriums and three classrooms. It is located on the southeast corner
of Superior Street and Fairbanks Court in Chicago.
The Lurie Medical Research Center is joined via sky bridges to other research facilities in the area.
